One awful effect that’s happened because of pesticides has been the steady decline in male fertility over the past 50 or so years. Researchers proved that when pregnant rats were exposed to a fungicide commonly used in vineyards, the male offspring had a decreased sperm count of up to 20 percent. Even things like anti-malaria pesticides can have reproductive side effects. Most reproductive problems seem to arise with the sperm count getting smaller and smaller.
